pMASSENA — A Norfolk man was jailed Tuesday after being charged with multiple crimes, including burglarizing his aunt’s premises twice./ppState police last Monday charged Jason J. Malone, 37, of 986 State Route 420, Norfolk, with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, both felonies, and misapplication of property, a misdemeanor./ppTroopers charge that sometime between August and November, Mr. Malone broke into a storage shed owned by his aunt, Rose L. Malone, 325 S. Racquette River Road, and stole a desk and numerous small items from the shed, valued at approximately $500./ppSometime before September, troopers charged, Mr. Malone also removed a kerosene furnace from his aunt’s vacant trailer at 9851 Route 56 in the town of Louisville, and sold it to someone in Massena. The furnace was valued at $300, troopers said./ppTroopers also charged that in June, in the town of Norfolk, Mr. Malone sold a 2000 Ford Expedition which belonged to his stepson, William R. Gardner IV, without permission or notification. The vehicle is valued at about $300, troopers said./ppMr. Malone was arraigned Tuesday in Massena Town Court and was sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond for the two burglary charges. He was placed under probation supervision on the misdemeanor charge./ppAlso last Monday, Mr. Malone was charged by village police with felony second-degree forgery, and the misdemeanors of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, two counts of petit larceny, and fourth-degree criminal mischief./ppPolice charge that about 8 p.m. Jan. 11 at On A Roll Deli, 50 N. Main St., Mr. Malone attempted to cash a check, belonging to Ryan Burns, in the amount of $300. Police said that shortly before attempting to cash the check, Mr. Malone broke into Mr. Burns’s car in the parking lot of Massena Memorial Hospital by smashing a window and stole a purse, belonging to Mr. Burns’s wife, which contained the checks./ppMr. Malone was arraigned on those charges in Massena, was placed under the supervision of probation and was taken to the county jail, where he was being held on the state police charges./p
