pCARTHAGE — The village board of trustees has approved a part-time police policy presented by Police Chief Reginald Huber Jr. /ppThe policy states the department “will employ fully certified and sworn part-time officers to supplement the full-time police force of the Village to ensure that adequate police service is rendered.”/ppThe part-time officers will be required to complete the Field Training Program when first hired and all other training as is required by full-time employees./ppUnless they are hired from a competitive civil service list, the part-time officers will be limited to less than 20 hours in any one work week./p
