Volunteers set up the annual flag display at Carthage High School Tuesday afternoon. The display will be in place until Memorial Day.
According to Carthage Teachers’ Association president Patricia Sheehan, organizer of the display, 126 large flags and nearly 1,600 small flags were put in place at the school on Route 126, Carthage.
Small flags were sold for $5 and were designated “in memory of” or “in honor of” a person. Ms. Sheehan said the sales raised $415 profit which will be donated to the school’s Supply Closet which gives school supplies to students who need them.
