GOUVERNEUR — A Gouverneur man is facing various charges from village police following a domestic incident at 2:16 p.m. on May 18.
Dustin A. Hitsman, 31, was charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree attempted assault, second-degree strangulation, first-degree sexual abuse, all felonies, and second-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree menacing and two counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors.
Police said Mr. Hitsman’s charges stem from contact by forcible compulsion, with children less than 17 years old endangered.
The incident is under investigation, with no further information available.
Mr. Hitsman was arraigned in Fowler Town Court and was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
